Pastor Ervin Mason

On May 30, 1965, Pastor and Mrs. Ervin W. Mason, Jr., began ministry at Bethel. Under the anointed preaching of Pastor Mason, may young people felt God's call into the ministry. To name a few, Beth (Oakes) Grant, who later married David Grant, missionary to India. Beth was saved at the age of seven under the teaching of devoted Christian parents and the preaching of God's anointed Word. Angel Berrios and his brother Alfredo also went off to Bible School. Angel is now an Evangelist and Alfredo has gone to do work in Arkansas. David Borrkman, Jay Sherwood, Hershel and Linda (Hall) Bennett, are also serving as ministers of the gospel; Blaine McVicker, who is now pastoring in Hereford, Maryland, and Walter Asher who pastors in Shookstown, Maryland. Others are Ethel (Gill) Sinclair, Beulah and Willard Mullins, Henry Evans, Gerald Wagner, Alvin Hall, Patti (Poe) Farmer, Bill Glunt, Richard Sommer, Jack and Corinne Moris, and Cecil Richardson. Many were youth leaders before going to Bible School. Others that served as youth leaders were Janice Hall, Darlene (Mack) Seger, and John and Edward Busick.Several of our young men received the "God and Country Award." They were John Busick, James Mewshaw, Michael Frazier, and Michael Poe.

Pastor David Hargis

Pastor David Hargis with his wife, Linda, began ministering at Bethel in 1980. David and Linda were very good singers and ministered by song with solos and duets. During their ministry, Linda was choir director and the church presented several inspiring cantatas which were a blessing to the church family and the community. In the fall of 1980, Royal Rangers and Missionettes were organized, beginning a steady flow of young lives trained in physical and spiritual truths, making a stronger Christian character of the youth of the church. A building program for a larger sanctuary was planned on the present property, but it wasn't God's timing. Pastor Hargis resigned in 1982.
