Jesus, Our Hope of Glory

“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”   Philippians 1:27

Ever wonder what the disciples might have been praying as Jesus, bloodied and bruised, carried that heavy wooden cross up Golgotha to His death?  Do you think they were asking God to spare His life?  Maybe.  But consider what Oswald Chambers said, “Some prayers are followed by silence because thay are wrong; others because they are bigger than we understand.”

The resurrection is bigger than anyone could understand.  One is thing for sure.  Jesus’ followers needed hope.  And, boy did they get it when Jesus rose from that grave.  That is why He is our Hope of Glory.

The Resurrection should give all of us hope.  It reasures us that our future is as bright as the promises of God.  It reminds us that, in Christ, our future is immense with promise.  It reminds us that, for believers in the resurrection, the boundaries of possibilities are extended.  So, the next time you pray, pray with confidence knowing that Jesus is our Hope of Glory.
