Angels Aware“...the angel said to her, ‘Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!’” (Luke 1:28) Plenty was going on when Mary and Joseph found out about this Divine conception. You can bet they had lots of questions. Each was seeking answers from God. And, in each case, God dispatched one of His angels to answer their cry. But, this wasn’t the first time that God sent a heavenly messenger to answer a prayer. When Daniel prayed, God dispatched an angel with the answer. When Peter was in prison, God answered the prayers of his friends by sending an angel to open the prison doors to set him free. I’m not so sure that today’s Christians give much thought to angels. I wonder how many times an angel was sent on his way with divine wisdom for someone who prayed and needed to make an important decision. In our own church, did an angel rush with healing grace to little Charlotte when we prayed about the hole in her heart? Was it an angel of the Lord who touched Chyrassie when her back needed healing? And, what about Rebecca? Did God’s messengers prompt, not one, but several human resource employees to offer Rebecca jobs at Johns Hopkins after she prayed for employment? The next time you pray, keep your eyes open to God’s endless possibilities. “But to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings...” (Malachi 4:2).
