Giving Thanks

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”
Psalm 107:1

Let me tell you why I am thankful to God for His mercy.  Mercy is God’s love for those suffering or in need.  I have had many needs, and His mercies are many. 

When I am tired, He gives me rest (Exodus 33:14).
When I am weak, He gives me strength (Psalm 29:11).
When I am afraid, He is with me (Isaiah 41:10).
When I struggle in life, He goes before me (Isaiah 45:2).
When I need spiritual direction, He gives me a pastor (Jeremiah 3:15).
When life is confusing, He gives me purpose (Jeremiah 29:11).
When I call Him, He answers and will show great and mighty things (Jeremiah 33:3).
When I am troubled or sorrowful, He gives me peace (John 14:27).

I experience God’s mercy every single day.  His mercies extend beyond our imagination.  And, like fresh manna from heaven, they are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23).  Give thanks.
