Why Not Me?“My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?” Psalm 22:1 Unless there is Divine intervention, in mid September I will have an operation on my right shoulder putting me out of commission for awhile. The question that I ask is, “Why haven’t I received the miracle that I need to avoid going “under the knife?” Over the past several months when Bethel prayed, tiny Charlotte received a miracle when God healed the hole in her heart. Charlie’s voice returned following an accident on the operating table. Chyrassie experienced the hand of God when an MRI clearly showed an abnormality on her disk that “disappeared.” So, where is my miracle? After all, “I’ve been a Christian for 33 years, I’m an AG Minister and Bethel’s prayer coordinator. That ought to count for something. Right? Here’s the deal. David, a man after God’s own heart, knew what is was like to feel abandoned, hurt, ridiculed, and left wondering if God understood the pain he was experiencing. He also knew of the miracles of old. But, David’s faith in God was not based on his performance but, God’s performance. And, despite David’s hardship, by faith, he refused to give up on God. When David prophetically cried those words in Psalm 22, and later by Jesus on the cross, he did the only thing he could do, place his hope in God, “...Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him...” Psalm 43:5. Can you relate? If you have testimony to share, send me an Email (larrywenzel@aol.com) or contact the office so we can help others overcome the devil. |
