WHEN YOU'RE HERE

Ministries Prayer

Prayer

prayer_header

Prayer is at the core of everything we do at Bethel. It isn't treated as an "add-on" or a "tag-along." It is the engine that drives our Church. We believe in prayer. We preach it, teach it, breathe it, and do it. And, we've seen the positive results of it. Any success we experience at Bethel is because we prayed to God first.

Bethel has many prayer teams and individuals who pray regularly for people and over the issues of the Church. Our Prayer Warriors are freedom fighters, praying for the release of God's healing, delivering, and redeeming power into the lives of people and Bethel's ministries.

If you need prayer in your life, visit the church or call the church office. Bethel has people who will pray with you.

If you want to be involved in a ministry that gets you close to God, contact us. There is a place for you. For more information on how you can become part of this powerful ministry, contact the church office.

Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads.
Ephesians 6:18 (The Good News Bible)

Armed and Dangerous - January 2010

With the end of the year upon us and a fresh year before us, now would be a good time to evaluate your prayer life.  Has your prayer life become stale?  Do you struggle to maintain a consistence prayer life?  Are your prayers boring as you recite the same thing over and over or is there excitement and energy in your prayers?

The way we pray has a lot to say about how we perceive God.  If we believe God to be awesome only in our mind during a Sunday School class or a Sunday morning worship service but not in everyday life, then it’s not likely we will see amazing prayer results.

Even though we are finite beings with human limitations, we serve the God who enables us to live beyond our limits.  He calls us to a life of bold faith, believing Him to do extraordinary things in and through us (Global University, Prayer and Worship 2007).

Prayer matters because we matter to God.  Therefore, what we pray and how we pray matters to God.  Brother Lawrence, a monk who lived in the 17th century, learned how to leap-frogged his life to a higher level.  He called it, “practicing the presence of God.”  He lived his life with an attitude of constantly being in God’s presence.  It was that attitude that enabled him to see his prayers come alive and God’s power work through his life.

From January 11-15, 2010, Bethel will host its annual Week of Prayer.  There is no better way to begin practicing the presence of God and starting the new year right than by committing yourself to prayer.  Hot-link your prayer life this year by coming out for a time of impact prayer.
